Cottage Holiday Let 1

Totally relax at this unique and tranquil getaway. Cottage Holiday Let 1 is an absolutely beautiful cottage suitable for up to 2 people, with amazing views and walks around the wonderful Peak District countryside. This idyllic cottage dates back to the 1800's and was originally a shire horse and cart stabling building. Hand built of local pink sandstone and now expertly converted into this beautiful one bedroom accommodation complete with wet room and underfloor heating.

The cottage is situated just a couple of minutes walk from a lovely local pub serving 5 star traditional food, with others only a couple of minutes’ drive away. A 15 minute drive takes you to Buxton's famous Spa town centre where there are shops, cafes and lots more. A walker’s dream location, only 10 minutes walk from the famous Lud's Church and only 30 minutes drive to Chatsworth House.

Introduction to the Area

The Peak District village of Wildboarclough (pronounced Will'berclough) nestles in an upland valley in a superb scenic location to the south of Macclesfield Forest.

The peak of Shutlingsloe (506 metres), lies to the north-west of the village. Often referred to as the 'Matterhorn of Cheshire', due to its distinctive triangular profile, Shutlingsloe is the third highest peak in the Cheshire. On a clear day the mountains of North Wales are visible from its summit.

The Clough Brook runs through the village, which burst its banks in a flash flood in May, 1989. Crag Hall, which is situated to the east of the village, was built in 1815 by George Palfreyman, the owner of a nearby textile printing works. Mill House and the Old Post Office, which once bore the distinction of being the largest sub-post office in England are the only parts of the mill buildings remaining……FIND OUT MORE.....
